The Air Cargo Regulated Agent Training Course follows the mandatory conditions and syllabus set down by the Department for Transport (DfT) in the UK National Aviation Security Training Programme and the duration of the training is dependent on the role of the participant and modules required.
The aims of this training are:
To ensure that all persons who have access to secure air cargo or mail understand their role and responsibilities in relation to keeping air cargo and mail secure.
To provide persons who apply security controls to air cargo and mail with the knowledge and skills needed to undertake their duties effectively.
To provide persons who screen air cargo and mail with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver effective screening.
To provide those supervising and managing persons carrying out screening or other applying security controls for air cargo or mail with the relevant knowledge and skills to provide effective security in accordance with the relevant legislation.
The Air Cargo Regulated Agent Training programmes include:
Cargo Aviation Security Principles (CASP) – Persons requiring general security awareness, including drivers
Cargo Aircraft Protection (CAP) – Persons implementing aircraft protection or aircraft search
Cargo Operative (CO) – Persons implementing security controls for air cargo or mail
Cargo Operative Screening (COS) – Persons implementing screening of air cargo or mail
Cargo Supervisor (CS)
Cargo Manager (CM)
Following assessment, successful participants will be certified according to the requirements of the DfT
