GSAT – General Security Awareness Training (Initial and Recurrent)

The GSAT Training Course is delivered over half a day for initial and recurrent training. This training is designed in line with local and national requirements to ensure that all staff working in aviation, or in the airport, or requiring unescorted access to Security Restricted Areas (SRA) or who transport air cargo/mail, or who have access to airport or in-flight supplies are aware of the security threat and measures in place, as well as their responsibilities regarding security at the airport where they will be working.

Course aims:

To ensure that all staff working in areas requiring general security awareness are aware of the security threat in their place of work.

To familiarise trainees with the nature of the threat to aviation and the basic security measures in place to counter that threat.

For trainees to understand the core objectives and organisation of aviation security.

For trainees to understand their role and responsibilities and the part they must play to contribute to aviation security.


To achieve the above aims, and dependent on the role of the participants, the following modules will be delivered:

3 – Security Culture and The Trainee’s Role

4 – Access Control and The Screening Point

5 – Escorting Requirements
